Pet soil or vomit is a complex mixture of foodstuffs, saliva, stomach acids and digestive waste products. Depending on the food involved, this mixture can work as a dilute dye to stain the pile of a carpet a different hue.
Pet Vomit:
1. Immediately pick up/blot up as much material as possible using paper towels or a clean, white cloth. A tablespoon makes a good scraper if necessary.
2. Apply warm enzyme solution to the spot and let it dwell for 15-20 minutes.
3. Apply vinegar solution, blot.
4. Apply detergent solution, blot.
5. Rinse thoroughly with cool clean water, blot until dry.
If the urine is fresh:
1. Blot up as much as possible. Apply warm enzyme solution to the spot and let it dwell for 15-20 minutes.

2. Blot up remaining enzyme solution and rinse with 20% ammonia to water solution. Sudsy ammonia is recommended. Otherwise, add two drops of dish soap to the solution.
3. Blot up remaining solution.
4. Rinse with water. Apply a glass of water to the spot and use a wet/dry vacuum to remove, or stand on a folded towel to absorb the remaining water.
5. Place another dry towel on the spot, with a weight on top (stack of books) for over night.
If the urine is old:
1. Repeat step 1 from previous
2. Blot up remaining enzyme solution and rinse with a 20% vinegar solution. Add two drops of dish soap to the solution before you apply.
3. repeat step 3-5
